Over the past couple of decades the craft beer craze has swept through Michigan, and today the Great Lakes state boasts over 300 microbreweries, breweries, and brewpubs. This level of competition has resulted in superior beer produced all over the state, and there are lots of options for local craft beer in Dearborn. Residents of Fairlane Woods Apartments have several excellent craft beer sources located nearby.
Dearborn’s first microbrewery, Dearborn Brewing, serves a variety of craft beers created in house. Also, the menu changes regularly. Offerings range from standard IPAs to the whimsically named “Norwegie Board Farmhouse Ale” or “Death by Chocolate Porter.” Dearborn Brewing features live music on Friday nights, trivia nights on Mondays, and more. Also, you can treat your furry friend to an outing on Dog-Friendly Sunday, the last Sunday of each month. While the brewery does not serve food, patrons are welcome to bring food along with them to enjoy with their brews.
Downey Brewing Company also brews a variety of beers in house, such as the “Detroit Lager,” the “St. Patrick’s Snake Banisher Stout” and the refreshing “Raspberry Radler,” a combination of wheat ale and raspberry juice. Like Dearborn Brewing, Downey does not serve food but invites guests to bring food or order in. The brewery hosts events like chili cookouts and beef brisket lunches throughout the year. Interested in learning more about brewing? Downey offers brewery tours on the third Saturday of each month. The taproom is open Wednesday through Sunday.
Merchant’s Fine Wine
Another source of craft beer in Dearborn is Merchant’s Fine Wine. Merchant’s is not a bar. Instead, it’s a shop that prides itself on the quality and selection of its wine, beer, spirits, and gourmet foods. Merchant’s stocks craft beer from all over the country, including from numerous top Michigan brewers like Bell’s, Keweenaw, New Holland, and Founders.
Nightlife, dining, shopping and more are all easily accessible to residents of Fairlane Woods Apartments. You can also enjoy a meal at Detroit’s hip new restaurants like Mint 29. To learn more about becoming part of the Fairlane Woods community, please contact us.Back to all posts
