Order Dinner from These Middle Eastern Restaurants Near Dearborn

The Detroit area is famous for cars: car museums, car assembly lines, and cars inside and out. But there’s another wonderful addition to Americana that is less spoken about but just as treasured: Dearborn is home to the largest Arab-American population in the country. It has been that way for quite a while. And with that comes restaurants that serve great food around Fairlane Woods Apartments. Try these two Middle Eastern restaurants near Dearborn:

Al Ameer Restaurant

Al Ameer Restaurant was started in 1989 by Khalil Ameer and Zaki Hakeem. The tradition of having a great family restaurant passed on from them to their sons. They specialize in just about everything. Their menu features lamb kebabs, falafel, fattoush, and hummus. They also make delicious shawarma sandwiches.

The restaurant sources their ingredients locally whenever possible. Also, the menu has halal meal choices. For every meal, you can choose a drink from the wonderful, fresh juice bar. Banquet facilities are available and they also do catering.

Shatila Bakery

Founded in 1979 by Riad Shatila, Shatila Bakery is another family-centric place to eat. In addition to their scrumptious baklava, the bakery has other treats such as knafeh, a noodle-like pastry that is made to order. Visitors also love their homemade ice cream.

Both restaurants offer take out.
