Crisp fries topped with flavorful gravy and melted cheese curds — what could be better? Poutine may be a Canadian tradition, but La Fork, a poutine and crepe restaurant in Dearborn, does a great job of bringing it to the Michigan population.
La Fork is proud to be the first casual poutine restaurant in Michigan. Everything they serve is homemade, from the double-fried fries to the gravy. On the menu, you’ll discover an array of specialty poutines. There’s the “Canadian, Eh!” which is classic poutine with just fries, gravy, and cheese curds. Then, there’s the “Philly Steak” topped with gravy, steak, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheddar. Of course, vegetarians love the “Very Veggie” poutine made with tomatoes, onions, black beans, and black olives.
In addition to poutine, La Fork also offers a selection of crepes filled with delicious Nutella, bananas, caramel, and other ingredients. You can even build your own crepes or poutine with your favorite toppings.
La Fork has a very casual atmosphere. Clocks on the wall remind you what time it is in London, Paris, and New York. You order at the wooden counter and enjoy your meal in the small dining room or to-go. La Fork is located at 1041 Howard St. in Dearborn. They’re open daily for lunch and dinner and they stay open late on the weekends for those after-dinner snacks.
