With May comes the warm weather. What better way to get outdoors than with your favorite furry friend? The Mutt Strut and Pet Expo is sure be a great time for family and fur-babies. The fundraiser has a goal of $75,000 this year to help better the lives of shelter pets.
The main focus of the day will be the 2.37 mile walk along Garrison Street. All dogs are welcome to come out and walk with their family, but having a dog is not a requirement. Anyone can come out and walk for the cause! Bring the family or get a group of friends together for added fun. The event will be held Saturday, May 14 and registration will begin at 9am. The walk will start at 11am but the festivities will continue throughout the day until 3pm.
There will be many activities, so be sure to plan to spend the day there. For the pups, there will be lure and agility courses, Canine Good Citizen testing, Frisbee competitions, and much more. For the humans, there will be shopping booths, an expert canine trainer to answer questions, K9 demonstrations, and a crafting area. Love kitties too? Swing by the Kit Kat Club to celebrate the feline friends.
Even though you may come without a dog, you may go home with one. There will be an Adoptables Pit Stop area showcasing shelter dogs who are in search of a “furever” home. Raising money for a shelter dog is great, but taking one home is even better!
