Pubs are known for their lively atmosphere, delicious food, and refreshing drinks. If you would like to meet friends and family for a night out, head to one of the pubs near Fairlane Woods where you are sure to have a good time:
Located in a historic building at the corner of Woodward and Canfield, HopCat is known for having Michigan’s largest tap selection. It opened in 2014, and just six months later, Hour Detroit Magazine gave it top honors for Best New Bar in Detroit, Best Beer Selection, and Best Fries. The dining area offers a unique atmosphere with bottles on the ceiling, modern light fixtures, and artwork on the walls, and it’s often packed with a lively crowd. On the large menu, guests will find meals such as Cowboy Burgers, Fish & Chips, and Five Pepper Beef Chili.
Constructed in the early 1800s, the building features exposed brick and handcrafted woodwork. It was originally a saloon and over the years businesses such as an auto upholstery shop, a cafe, and an authentic Greek barber shop occupied the space before it became home to the Firebird Tavern. Its mission is to be a gathering place where guests can unwind during happy hour or enjoy a delicious meal with friends, and the cooks prepare an array of options such as Buffalo Chicken Wraps, Sockeye Salmon, and Steak Frites.
Nancy Whiskey has been a cornerstone of Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood since 1902. It holds one of the oldest liquor licenses in the city, and it is known for throwing some of the best parties in the area and for appearing in a Long John Silver TV commercial. There is live music on Friday and Saturday nights, and the limited menu includes sandwiches such as Corned Beef, Spicy Chicken, and Stacked Ham.
